AUS Cave Photo Contest 2024
"Asian Trans-Disciplinary Karst Conference 2024 Speleolympic and Competition"
Caves are wonderful landscape hidden on the earth, including underground rivers, caves, tiankeng, canyons, shafts and cave formations, and recording the karst evolution of the earth’s history, as well as link geology and biology in the hidden earth. In order to let more people understand caves, explore, record and study the geo-diversity and bio-diversity in caves, improve the public’s awareness of the protection of underground world, and promote the level of cave photography, the AUS cave photo contest 2024 will organized during the Asian karst trans-disciplinary conference by the Asian Union of Speleology.
The AUS cave photo contest has set up three levels of awards in three categories, i.e., “Cave geo-diversity”, “Cave activity” and “Cave bio-diversity” with the grand award, the excellence award and the encouragement award.

Categories
Cave geo-diversity
Geological features of cave & karst, including underground river, waterfall, karst spring, cave entrance, cave passage, cave chamber, karren, speleothems, sediments, tiankeng (great doline), shaft, canyons, polje, doline, tower karst, cone karst, stone forest, karst windows, etc.
Cave activity
Caving story, cave exploration, cave exploitation, cave research, living and production inside cave.
Cave bio-diversity
Cave ecosystem, cave animals and plants, cave species records, etc.
Submission
- Each participant is limited to submit three works per category;
- Both color and monochrome images will be accepted.
- File size: 2 to 20 MB of image data per work will be accepted.
- Image data file format: JPEG/300 dpi or more is recommended
- The standard color space for the judging process is RGB.
- Entrants must hold all applicable rights to image processing instead of any collaging and patching.
- Winners will be asked to provide higher resolution images for publication or display purposes related to the contest.
