Universitas Gadjah Mada is situated in the heart of Special Region of Yogyakarta, a well-known tourism region. There are many travel options you could choose.
Nearest airport: Yogyakarta International Airport
From the airport take the airport train from Airport Train Station (Stasiun Kereta Bandara YIA) to Yogyakarta Tugu Station. Afterward you could take a taxi or hail ride to reach Universitas Gadjah Mada.

Faculty of Geography and the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada is surrounded by various hotels and homestays. You will find a lot of staying options with good services, affordable prices, and easy access to the venue. Try to look at Kaliurang Road where you will find a lot of options.
Climate and Weather
Special Region of Yogyakarta is situated in a tropical climate with average temperature of 27 degree celcius. We will be in a dry season with hot day and a little chill in the night. Make sure you bring your sunscreen, umbrella or rain coat (just in case), and sweater for night.

Sightseeing
Yogyakarta City is a famous tourism destinations! In your free time after conference, do not miss visiting the iconic tourism attractions in Yogyakarta. Malioboro would be a good starting point. A part of UNESCO World Heritage offers you a vibrant evening to enjoy. Take a walk from the venue and going through the Tugu Golong Gilig to the south and finish at the Palace North Square (Alun-Alun Utara). Grab the street foods, warm beverages and sweet cakes at the cafes. Also, you do not want to miss buying merch along the streets.
Moving Around
A public bus of Transjogja is here for you covering most of the Yogyakarta City. Please find the route in this website. If you need to go somewhere but no bus route, try to use hail riding. We have Gocar and Grabcar instead of Uber. Download the application and you are free to go!
Shopping
Always prepare cash if you need to buy anything (and we are pretty sure you would!) although some merchant, especially a big one or common convenience store, will have electronic payment. The banks are close to venue and you will easily find a money changer in tourism destinations.
